South Pole Overnight and Three Glaciers Camp

splitter.png

The Geographic South Pole is perhaps the most iconic and exclusive prize for any traveler. As the very epicenter of one the greatest stories of Antarctica, the quest to conquer it pitted the lions of exploration against each other during Antarctica’s ‘heroic era’. The triumphs and tragedies of giants such as Amundsen, Scott and Shackleton still fascinate and inspire us to travel to the end of the Earth. Follow in the footsteps of legendary polar explorers and discover the secrets of this polar desert. Hike polar mountain, ski remarkable summits and discover breathtaking vistas-- the Antarctic interior is an unforgettable polar expanse and challenges our human concept of scale and importance.

Arrive in Punta Arenas the day before, then board a 757 to arrive at Union Glacier, where we acclimatize at Three Glaciers Camp, located in the southern Ellsworth Mountains. Ski, snowmobile, or take a Tucker Sno-Cat for an overland journey to the Drake Icefall. When weather conditions permit, using ski aircraft, we then fly to the South Pole, covering in several hours the distance that took those early explorers years of planning and months of hardship to achieve. History comes alive as we stand at 90° South and understand how the early explorers felt heading out across the frozen continent and into the unknown 100 years ago. Beneath you, the ice is almost 10,000 feet (3,000 meters) thick, and all 360 lines of longitude converge, and you’ll have joined a very exclusive group of people who have journeyed this far south on our planet. A short 500m walk or all-wheel-drive vehicle ride takes you to our private South Pole Camp for an overnight stay. Enjoy a celebratory meal prepared by one of our talented chefs and spend time with fellow explorers in the large, heated dining tent. The next morning, you’ll pack up for the return flight to Three Glaciers Retreat where you’ll receive a certificate to commemorate your South Pole overnight experience in Antarctica!

Indonesia, a captivating archipelago of over 17,000 islands, is a land of stunning diversity above and below the water line. Nestled in Southeast Asia, this sprawling nation is a tapestry of cultures, landscapes, and natural wonders.

From jet skiing across crystal clear waters to diving among WWII shipwrecks with majestic manta rays, the underwater world of Indonesia is an aquatic wonderland waiting to be explored.
